Let the Voters Decide on Immigration Reform

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

Amidst what can only be described as utter chaos with regard to immigration policy, President Trump has offered a sensible and much-needed corrective.  No, I am not talking about his decision to issue an executive order ending the separation of children from the adults who brought them illegally across our southern border.

Rather, I am referring to the President’s declaration on Twitter last Friday that Speaker Paul Ryan and the other congressional Republicans should stop trying to legislate immigration reforms, given Democratic opposition.  Instead, he urged that they wait until after the election when the “Red Wave” will install more Republicans.

It’s great advice: Nationalize the mid-term elections on issues that most Americans feel passionately about – securing our borders, enforcing our laws, protecting our sovereignty and people.

We need a real debate about those topics, and then let the voters decide.
