2006 Freedom Flame

The Center awarded Mr. Bolton the Freedom Flame in recognition of his outstanding service to our country in both his current and previous capacities. The occasion offered an excellent opportunity to enlist an influential audience of Center friends and supporters in the important work he is undertaking – in particular, that aimed at reforming the United Nations in ways that protect U.S. sovereignty and security and promote freedom’s cause.

As America’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. Bolton has been an effective advocate for America’s interests. He has striven to reform the U.N. so as to make it more accountable, transparent and effective as an institution. And he has managed to forge consensus on such topics as the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, North Korea’s ballistic missile programs and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
