NASA scientists say we could be hit sometime soon by a devastating solar storm.  Just how devastating was assessed recently by insurance giant Lloyds of London.  The results are truly terrifying.

Lloyds’ analysis says between 20-40 million Americans – especially those living in the Northeast corridor between New York and Washington D.C. – could be without electricity for some 16 days to 2 years. It estimates that restoring power in that event and getting society back to normal could cost between $600 billion and $2 trillion.

Even worse could be the loss of life. President Reagan’s Science Advisor, Dr. William Graham, calculates we’d die by the millions without electricity for extended periods.

We can and must take steps to protect our electrical grid against such electromagnetic pulse effects.  There is no time to waste.
