WEBINAR: Restoring Law & Order: Law Enforcement Options for Responding to Today’s Insurrectionists
In this installment of the Center for Security Policy’s Voter Education Webinar series, Director and Senior Analyst of Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Kyle Shideler hosted Andy McCarthy.
McCarthy is a former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney in New York, best known for leading the prosecution against the Blind Sheik and eleven other jihadists for waging a terrorist war against the United States –including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. McCarthy is also the author of Ball of Collusion, the Plot to Rig an Election and Destroy a Presidency.
As unrest continues to spread through American cities, producing nightly images of assaults and arsons perpetrated by Antifa, BLM, and other hard left revolutionary groups, it is increasingly clear that Americans desire a strong response to defeat these modern-day insurrectionists.
Shideler and McCarthy discussed why Attorney General Bill Barr is right to suggest U.S. Attorneys consider using “seditious conspiracy” charges, why Antifa meets the standard as an “organization” for legal purposes, Responding to local officials refusal to prosecute rioters, Kyle Rittenhouse, where or not Antifa and BLM should be designated terrorist organizations, and the role of the insurrection act.
