US Air Force asks Saudi-funded ‘Wahhabi network’ to help recruit Muslim chaplains

A group that is considered part of the Saudi-funded Wahhabi network to take control of Islam in America says that the U.S. Air Force has asked it to help recruit Muslim chaplains for the American military.

There’s a big problem: That network isn’t “with us” on terrorism.

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) says in a July 20 news release, “[The] US Air Force has requested the Islamic Society of North America for assistance in recruiting Muslim chaplains. ISNA is recognized by the Department of Defence [sic] (DoD) as a recognized endorser of chaplains.”

ISNA has vetted most of the 13 or so Muslim chaplains presently in the US military. But the Pentagon hasn’t done its part – yet – to vet those doing the vetting. An outspoken supporter of the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, Abdurahman Alamoudi, according to Islam-Online, “was the first exclusive endorsing agent for Muslim Chaplains for all branches of the US Armed Forces.”

Concern is growing about the effects of Saudi-funded propaganda operations in the United States, which have been likened in their organization and structure to the global active measures campaigns of the former Soviet Union. Some national security authorities are concerned that Wahhabi and Wahhabi-oriented groups are trying to hijack Islam in the United States and strengthen pro-terrorist elements.
