The IRS scandal is lurching towards a political death-spiral for Team Obama.  It’s been established that the agency’s abuse of power against conservative, Tea Party and Jewish groups was not a rogue operation run by low-level employees in Ohio.

Obama partisans keep insisting that, even if senior IRS officials were involved, there’s no connection to the White House.  Well, now we know that the acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service visited the White House 157 times from September 2009 to January 2013.

That’s more than any Cabinet officer and far more than his predecessor, who went to the White House only once in four years.

Was President Obama directing the IRS abuse of power, or just one of his subordinates?  Either way, he bears responsibility and must be held accountable.
