It’s a rarity these days that Congress can agree to do anything important.  Even more infrequently do both the Senate and House agree unanimously to something important.

Yet, that happened this week as Sen. Ted Cruz secured approval without dissent of legislation barring terrorists from serving as diplomats in this country.

This initiative was prompted by the new, supposedly “moderate” Iranian government’s appointment as its UN ambassador a man who helped hold American diplomatic personnel hostage in Tehran for over 400 days.

President Obama has yet to indicate whether he will sign this legislation, or otherwise bar Hamid Aboutalebi from entering our country. What is certain, though, is that the Iranian mullahs that would act so contemptuously to us are confident he will not stop them from acquiring nuclear weapons.
