President Obama took what he called a “shellacking” in the the 2010 midterms. What happened to his Democrats in the 2014 midterm elections was an absolute hammering.

In entrusting the Senate to Republicans, increasing the GOP majority in the House and giving Republican candidates key governorships, voters have repudiated, in the President’s words, his policies, “every single one of them.”

Unfortunately, my bet is that Mr. Obama will not adjust course in the wake of this defeat. He will, instead, double down, particularly on issues that were most resoundingly rejected: Obamacare and amnesty for illegal aliens.

If that happens, the next two years are going to be difficult for the country. But at least it will be absolutely clear who is responsible for the policies the public opposes – and who’s on their side.
