Thanksgiving
My favorite holiday, bar none, is Thanksgiving. It is a time of celebration that combines a rich historical moment, traditions of food and family and an opportunity to reflect upon – and express gratitude for – our myriad blessings.
Always right at the top of that list for me is the privilege of living in this country. Like those we love, the freedoms most of us take for granted, day in and day out, are to be cherished and protected. Only by recognizing their importance in our daily lives and being properly thankful for them are we likely to ensure they are safeguarded.
In particular, let’s be grateful for those who are protecting us and the country we love, often far removed from their families and the festivities of this Thanksgiving Day.
