‘People are Policy’ – and the Wrong Ones will Undermine Donald Trump

In official Washington, “people are policy.” If a President has subordinates aligned with his vision, that agenda will be translated into policy. If they actually oppose his vision, even the strongest Chief Executive will find himself and his program thwarted at every turn.

The announcement that Monica Crowley will not be the Trump national security team’s strategic communicator is an ominous sign. She would have been a formidable advocate – inside government and out – for Donald Trump’s commitment to renew the practice of “peace through strength.”

Trump opponents evidently hope to further impede the President-elect’s promised American military and strategic renewal by taking out next his National Security Advisor, retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn. Smears and witch-hunt investigations against this able patriot are, in reality, aimed at neutralizing his boss and undermining Mr. Trump’s ability to make America great – and secure – again.
