Ramzan Kadyrov is the president of the Chechan Republic. He, perhaps more than anyone or anything else, reveals much about Islam’s sharia doctrine, as well as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

At one time Kadyrov was a jihadi fighting for Chechan independence, however, he came over to the Russian side and was hand-picked by Vladimir Putin to be the president of Chechnya.

There is a lot to this story that warrants mentioning. First of all, it’s very interesting that Putin, who is still undeservedly considered a champion of Christianity by some, selected a jihadi to lead Chechnya. Second, quickly after assuming power, Kadyrov started to implement sharia in Chechnya—which is exactly the goal of all jihadists worldwide. Among the sharia tenets that he has instituted, allowed or encouraged are polygamy, restrictive dress codes for women, and punishments for homosexuality.

So Vladimir Putin has essentially practiced clear appeasement in an attempt to pacify Chechnya by giving the jihadis exactly what they have been fighting for.

This is hardly the first example of Vladimir Putin exhibiting weakness in the face of jihad. In the wake of the horrific 2004 Beslan school massacre in which 334 people (mostly children) were killed, Putin was almost nowhere to be seen, making only a brief appearance at the site away from public view. The shamefully poor performance of his regime in investigating Russia’s failure in the incident over the years has left the families of victims resentful, frustrated and quite critical of Putin himself, who has shown nothing but moral cowardice on the issue ever since.

Recently, Putin’s sharia stooge Kadyrov appeared in the news again when at a meeting with a group of Chechans living in Jordan, he stated that Jews are “the main enemy of Islam.”

Before you dismiss Kadyrov’s statement as just another example of anti-Semitism, you might want to check with the source he cited: Islam’s prophet Mohammed himself. As Kadyrov said, “the Prophet had killed Jews more than any other people.”

Perhaps the most infamous example of what Kadyrov was referring to was in the aftermath of the Battle of the Trench, when Mohammed’s jihadists beheaded somewhere between 300 and 900 Jewish men and boys.

Kadyrov’s statement is not the same kind of anti-Semitism that one might hear from a David Duke or a Nazi. It is based on hundreds year-old Islamic scripture from reliable Hadith, the traditions and sayings of the life of Mohammed.

This is the man that Putin put in charge of Chechnya. And Putin’s esteem is clearly returned on the part of Kadyrov, who once called Putin a “superhero” who should rule Russia for life.

So, not only is Putin is weak on jihad, he is awfully cozy with a Jew-hating, sharia-adherent jihadi, who bases his Jew hatred on the example set by Mohammed.

These are certainly lessons for the West to learn for the future.
