Americans Still Want Religious Freedom
Freedom of religion is the first of those guaranteed in our Constitution’s Bill of Rights. Yet, it has been under assault for decades by cultural Marxists, secularists, atheists and, ironically, Islamists – all of whom have been engaged in a sort of social reengineering of America aimed at supplanting its Judeo-Christian traditions with their respective, preferred alternatives.
The Obama administration has pursued this agenda with a vengeance. The question is: Are Americans okay with that?
The Washington Examiner reports today that, by large margins, our countrymen and women do cherish religious freedom – with 79% saying that “the federal government should not determine what constitutes legitimate religious beliefs.”
This silent majority must speak up, lest our foundational liberty continue to be suppressed, and with it the rest of our Constitution and rights.
