Margaret Thatcher famously toasted Ronald Reagan, saying "we are so grateful to you for putting freedom on the offensive."

Nothing could be more true of Andrew Breitbart.

As collaborators on Big Peace and other initiatives, we at the Center for Security Policy worked closely with Andrew and his team. We are greatful that his life’s work was his enthusiasm for America, and for the relish with which he went into combat on its behalf.

The Center for Security Policy expesses deep condolences to his family, his friends, and to the nation he adored. We will miss him terribly.

Below, Andrew speaks about the creation of Big Peace at the Center’s 2010 Keeper of the Flame award dinner in Washington. That year, we honored Vice President Cheney for his work in keeping America secure. Frank Gaffney beckoned Andrew, who was in the audience, to say a few words about the importance of national security in his work.

"This country’s worth defending," he said. And he did.
