Arafat’s Fatah movement calls for attacks on American targets around the world

Now that President Bush has called for a change in the corrupt and ineffective Palestinian leadership, Yasser Arafat’s Fatah organization has called for attacks on American targets.

The al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, issued a statement threatening “to strike at Zionist and American interests and installations” in Israel and worldwide if the Bush Administration kept up its opposition to Arafat’s rule. Arafat later issued a statement distancing himself from the statement.

Regardless of Arafat’s words, the US should now place Fatah on the State Department list of terrorist organizations, and place Fatah’s American-based support groups under increased surveillance.
