Suddenly, Democrats are professing concern about election integrity. That’s curious as the party has long worked to undermine the principle that only eligible citizens can vote and just once per election.

Notably, Democratic leaders have fought hard to block prudent voter identification requirements, insisting that there’s no such thing as electoral fraud. They have facilitated illegal immigration, lax ballot registration practices and early, absentee and “get-out-the-vote” schemes that lend themselves to abuse. Another gambit involves restoring former and even serving felons’ voting rights.

Now, a supremely partisan Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, asserts that – like the electric grid and other “critical infrastructures” – his department should be entrusted with safeguarding the voting process against cyber attack. Never mind that DHS has done virtually nothing to protect the grid.

Can American democracy stand much more Democratic election deform?
