Boko Haram
Among the many violent jihadist organizations seeking to impose the Islamic supremacist doctrine of shariah is Nigeria’s Boko Haram. Its name means “Western education is forbidden.”
The Associated Press estimates that this group alone has killed more than seventeen-hundred people since 2010, many of them Christians. And, just last weekend, Boko Haram slit the throats and gouged out the eyes of forty-four more innocent Nigerians.
Yet, in keeping with its general practice in places like Egypt, Libya and Syria, the Obama administration seems more concerned with protecting the terrorists than with defeating them. Secretary of State John Kerry has called on the government of Nigeria to “exercise restraint” towards this jihadist group. We’re on the wrong side and if we persist, expect more to die – including here.
