Bring Back the ‘Maximum Pressure’ on North Korea

Arms control with tyrannical thugs like North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has been compared to the phenomenon of second marriages, which the British wit Samuel Johnson once defined as “the triumph of hope over experience.” The promises made by the Kim dynasty have been a virtually unbroken litany of bad experiences that crushed naïve and unjustified hopes.

That certainly appears to be the case with respect to the pledges “Little Rocket Man” made about denuclearizing his country before and during the Singapore summit with President Trump. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Advisor John Bolton have confirmed little, if any, progress on that score has been made to date.

So, it’s time to start ratcheting up the pressure again.  Enforce sanctions.  Resume U.S. military exercises with South Korea. And tell its Quisling president to stop appeasing Kim Jong-un.
