Bush: We will accept no outcome but victory
Shortly after U.S. Tomahawk missiles and F-117 stealth fighters destroyed Iraqi leadership sites last night, in what U.S. officials called a decapitation attack, President Bush announced that America and its coalition partners had begun operations to disarm Iraq and free its people.
Reports indicate that the targets of the strike were the top five members of the Iraqi Baath party, including Saddam Hussein and his two sons. A taped speech by someone who appeared to be Saddam Hussein was aired after the attack and pledged that Iraq will be victorious over the reckless criminal little Bush. Intelligence officials are now analyzing the tape to determine if the man on the tape was actually Saddam or one of his many body doubles.
Iraq has retaliated by launching Scud missiles against U.S. forces in Kuwait. Some of these missiles have been intercepted by U.S. Patriot anti-missile systems.
The Pentagon has now confirmed that Iraq has also set fire to two oil wells in southern Iraq.
