Don’t Subject Israel to Future Manchesters – and Worse

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Britain is reeling from another horrific suicide attack, this one aimed at concert-goers in Manchester, including children. It has precipitated a familiar response: assertions that the as-yet-unidentified perpetrator acted alone; disavowals that such terrorism has anything to do with Sharia-supremacism; and resolute statements by the targeted nation’s leaders and expressions of solidarity from their allies.

One of those allies is President Trump. As it happens, his denunciation of the “evil losers” who engage in such violence was issued from a place that continues to incubate them: Palestinian-controlled Bethlehem.

Israel’s separation fence and intensive security operations have dramatically reduced jihadist attacks against her people. The President is being advised, however, to restart a so-called “peace process” with the express aim of creating a Palestinian state that risks resulting in a Jewish one at far greater risk of Manchester-style mayhem, and much worse.
