Republican Senators yesterday preserved for the moment their right to filibuster – and, thereby, block – problematic presidential nominations.  Unfortunately, thanks to Senator John McCain’s subversive machinations, the price they apparently paid was their acquiescence to seven of President Obama’s pending appointments.

One of those most in need of filibustering is Thomas Perez for Secretary of Labor. He’s a radical leftist who has used his present Justice Department position to promote agendas including empowering Islamists and sabotaging prosecutions – supposedly to advance “civil rights.”

The latest examples of what should be behavior disqualifying Perez involve reported Justice Department efforts to stoke racial tensions in connection with the Trayvon Martin case.  Expect much worse at the Labor Department if Perez is promoted, not blocked, by Senate Republicans.
