‘Gun Control on Steroids’ Makes the World More Dangerous

Russia has used nerve agent to kill one of its former spies in Britain. Its Syrian clients have repeatedly used chlorine and other toxic chemical agents.  And North Korea has been accused of supplying Syria’s regime with the wherewithal to do so.

There sure seem to be a lot of chemical arms for a world we were assured would be rid of them if only the United States ratified the problematic Chemical Weapons Convention.  The available evidence appears to vindicate those of us who warned back then that, by so doing, we’d simply ensure the planet’s bad guys were the only ones who had lethal chemical arms.

Think of it as gun control on steroids.  No matter how many children are trotted out demanding that we disarm, the reality is our enemies won’t.  And the world will be a more, not less, dangerous place.
