Our Homeland Security Projects

The U.S. government has no more important mission than protecting the American homeland and its citizens.

Since September 11, 2001, our Nation has taken great strides to improve homeland security. Citizens, industry, and government leaders from across the political spectrum have cooperated to a degree rarely seen in American history. Congress has passed important laws that have strengthened the ability of our law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute terrorists and those who support them. Aviation security has been improved. Medicines have been stockpiled to defend against bioterrorism and improved our ability to combat weapons of mass destruction. Information sharing has been improved among our intelligence agencies, and important steps have been taken to protect our critical infrastructure. The need for homeland security is tied to our enduring vulnerability; we will always remain a nation at risk to the changing and adapting threat of terrorism.

The Center for Security Policy actively supports the already enacted improvements to homeland security and is working for even further enhancements in the areas of disaster preparedness as well as border security.
