Even as the Obama administration berates colleges and universities for the rising numbers of rapes on campus, it is insisting that they take at least two steps certain to assure there are still more of them.

First, the Education Department threatened the University of North Carolina system that, unless its state rescinds a statute that designed to bar men from using women’s locker and bath rooms, UNC risks a cut-off of federal aid. Should Team Obama get away with such coercion, every other institution of higher learning in America will be forced to create conditions in which rape is virtually inevitable.

Then yesterday, the Secretary of Education told such institutions not to screen applicants for criminal records. That’s a formula for campuses not only having males invading females’ privacy, but that some of them will be convicted sex offenders.

That’s nuts.
