Monica Crowley on Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin

FRANK GAFFNEY: Let me turn lastly, and perhaps, in a way, most importantly, to a person that you have been tracking very, very, effectively for a long time, and that is Hillary Clinton. I spoke earlier in the program with Ileana Ros-Lehtinen a bit about her e-mails, and will be discussing it as well with Diana West shortly. But, Monica Crowley, what should we make of what has come to light so far, and it’s not everything by any means, about these e-mails? Is it really much ado about nothing or is there a serious national security problem here, and how should it be addressed in terms of criminal prosecution?

MONICA CROWLEY: Very serious. I’m not an attorney, but attorneys I respect, like Andy McCarthy, our good friend, and others have written extensively about the grave criminality that they see. Rudy Giuliani, former U.S. attorney, he’s made the case as well. In terms of the national security jeopardy that she put us in, it is, without a doubt, that the world chief espionage actors were watching Mrs. Clinton, the U.S. Secretary of State, in real time, on her server, by hacking into it, following her e-mails, following her activities. They wanted a window into this president, forty-four, but also wanted a window into who could be the forty-fifth President, Mrs. Clinton. So we know, without a doubt, Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, they were watching the nation’s top diplomat in real time. That puts all of us at risk, but particularly those who are in the field.

FRANK GAFFNEY: And gaining access to a lot of very sensitive information, including some that may have really jeopardized people’s lives.

MONICA CROWLEY: That’s exactly right. So that’s one issue. I think what everybody is missing is her motive for this, and I think the motive is twofold. One, there is no love lost between Obama and Clinton, and I believe that is going to play out politically, I do not believe Mrs. Clinton is going to be the Democratic nominee because Mr. Obama does not want that. But that’s an issue for another day. Remember that when Obama made her Secretary of State, Frank, it was out of friends close, enemies closer. She knew that, and knew that the President was going to watch every move. So what did she do? She created her own system. She brought in her own server, had her own e-mail addresses, all outside of the prying eyes of Obama, Valerie Jarrett, the White House, the State Department, the NSA, everybody who she knew would be watching her, she created her own internal system, and basically her own rogue intelligence operation via Sid Blumenthal. But the other motive is the Clinton Foundation, and that is something now we know the FBI is looking into. The co-mingling of her work at State, with her work and Bill’s work at the Clinton foundation; how did they co-mingle? Were some of the top-secret documents, sensitive documents that she was getting on her private server, were they used to personally benefit the Clinton’s and the foundation? That is a huge question and the FBI is still investigating that, but all these roads lead to massive corruption on the part of Mrs. Clinton, who should be no where near the Oval Office.

FRANK GAFFNEY: Some of them seem to lead as well to her key subordinates, one of whom I’ve been very concerned about, as I know have you, Huma Abedin, the woman who was tied extensively through personal, as well as family, relations with the Muslim Brotherhood, among other things. There’s a new movie that will be coming out shortly about the Weiners, her husband and Huma, and I just wonder what you make of her role in all of this as so far we can determine it.

MONICA CROWLEY: Well, what we do know, at least so far, we’ve known for years Frank that Huma Abedin is Mrs. Clinton’s closest and most trusted aide, apart from Bill, we know that to be true. You have done yeoman’s work in investigating her background, her family’s background, in terms of links to the Muslim Brotherhood and Muslim Sisterhood. That exists. What we know now legally, is that the FBI investigation appears not to just be focused on the Queen, but focused on the Queen’s court as well, meaning her top aides, Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan. Now, there was word back last fall, and I wrote about this in my Washington Times column that Mr. Sullivan, who was her top national security aide at the State Department, has in fact flipped, and is cooperating with the FBI. If that is true, then that means he may be singing, and Mrs. Clinton, Ms. Abedin, Ms. Mills might be in serious jeopardy.
