Thankfully, on Wednesday, President Obama bid farewell to the U.S. military.

The unreality of the event was captured in the citation accompanying the Pentagon medal he was awarded. It affirmed virtually every White House-promoted falsehood about Mr. Obama’s performance as Commander-in-Chief.

For example, it claims: He “kept our nation safe.” He “decimated al Qaeda’s terrorist network.” He “put [ISIS] on a path to a lasting defeat.” He “achieved verifiable nuclear disarmament of Iran.” And on and on.

In a way, it’s fitting that Barack Obama’s actual indifference towards our armed forces and his disastrous misconduct of foreign policy was memorialized by the sort of national security fraud that has been the hallmark of his presidency. The truth is far more accurately reflected in the President’s parting emptying of Guantanamo Bay and, thereby, his repopulating of the murderous senior ranks of the global jihad.
