Obama’s Unraveling Iran Deal

What has gone forward, however, is life-support for the mullahs’ regime in Tehran. The Iranians have already pocketed, or shortly will, between seven and twenty-five billion dollars in sanctions relief.

Like Obamacare, President Obama’s interim deal with Iran has become an unmitigated disaster. Far from “freezing” Iran’s nuclear weapons program – as he claimed, the deal itself has been frozen, with details still to be resolved and negotiations broken off by the Iranians.

What has gone forward, however, is life-support for the mullahs’ regime in Tehran. The Iranians have already pocketed, or shortly will, between seven and twenty-five billion dollars in sanctions relief. And more will be forthcoming as foreign governments and businesses seize the chance to do their own deals with Iran.

In the process, Team Obama’s unilateral and secret concessions allowing the Iranians to enrich uranium have fractured ties with U.S. allies and others, isolating Israel and buying time and resources for Iran to get the bomb. What a deal!
