Veterans Day should be a moment for solemn reflection and heartfelt thanks.  Of course, that means we all should express appreciation for the sacrifice of millions of our countrymen and women.

On this and every other day, moreover, we need to ensure that tomorrow’s veterans – American patriots who are now serving in uniform – are given the training and equipment that they, and their successors, need to have to fight and win the nation’s wars.

Yet, Team Obama evidently sees Veterans Day as just another occasion to play politics.  The President seems intent on buying vets’ support for various redistribution and entitlement schemes by promoting a sense of grievance against the society they once protected.

Fortunately, our veterans want to ensure that that society continues to be safeguarded, not undermined in this fashion.
