Open Border Democrats Own This Crisis

Yesterday, the New York Times’ published a heart-wrenching photograph of the prostrate corpses of a father and his small daughter drowned as they tried to enter this country illegally. The image recalled one of a little boy dead on a Turkish beach a few years back, which moved Europeans to admit millions of refugees at an enormous cost to the continent’s taxpayers, social fabric and security.

Democrats – including many seeking their party’s presidential nomination – not only sought to foster a similar response here. They actually tried shamelessly to portray this tragic event as President Trump’s fault.

The reality is very different. As long as his Democratic opponents thwart Mr. Trump’s efforts to secure the border and preserve the financial, sanctuary and other magnets attracting illegal migrants to this country, they own this crisis and must be held accountable for its terrible costs.
