“The U.S. “Operation Midnight Hammer” targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities has had far-reaching geopolitical effects, including a notable reaction from the Chinese regime, which was caught off guard, according to Colonel Grant Newsham (Ret.), senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy and author of ‘When China Attacks.’

In an interview with NTD, Newsham explained that China initially responded to Israel’s surprise strike with standard diplomatic statements—blaming Israel, calling for de-escalation, and urging a ceasefire. But he noted Beijing appeared caught off guard. “They don’t really have a very obvious, thought-out strategy or plan for dealing with this,” said Newsham.”
