Protect Our Most Critical Infrastructure NOW

The single most serious problem facing our country is the fact that our electric grid is exceedingly vulnerable to enemy attack. Alternatively, it can be taken down by a predictable, naturally occurring solar storm.

If we don’t have electricity in this country over large areas for protracted periods, we won’t have this country. Every other present problem will fade as the survival of possibly hundreds of millions of us becomes our sole preoccupation.

Fortunately, Chairman Michael McCaul and his colleagues on the House Homeland Security Committee took the first, important step yesterday towards preventing such a disaster. They approved Congressmen Trent Franks and Pete Sessions’ “Critical Infrastructure Protection Act” – legislation to begin, at last, the planning required to protect our electric grid. Please tell your representative to get HR 1073 enacted ASAP.
