The nation’s top uniformed officer will be subjected to harsh questioning today as legislators hector him over evidence of an epidemic of sexual assaults in the armed forces.  It is predictable that some of the harshest critics will be those who have contributed the most to this breakdown of discipline – and the threat it poses to our military.

There is no excuse for rapes and other sexual assaults among those in uniform.  But Members of Congress share responsibility with President Obama for creating conditions conducive to such behavior.  They have, in the name of “equality,” allowed military women into positions with little or no privacy and effectively encouraged homosexuality in the ranks.

We are breaking the only military we have.  We must reverse such trends if we expect it to protect us.
