Reality Check in the Netherlands

What is wrong with Barack Obama’s national security policy will be on display today in the Netherlands.  A meeting to discuss nuclear terrorism will be overshadowed by Russia’s seizure of part of Ukraine.

The so-called “Nuclear Security Summit” is a product of the President’s delusional preoccupation with global nuclear disarmament.  In the five years Mr. Obama has been fixedly pursuing his ambition to rid the world of nuclear weapons, the principal result has been the serious erosion of our nuclear deterrent.

During this period, hostile nations like Russia have only strengthened their capabilities to wage thermonuclear war. It would appear, therefore, to be “no coincidence” that Vladimir Putin believes he can act with impunity to redraw the map of Europe. And our provocative weakness may encourage him to do so again soon.
