Center Senior Fellow Dalia al-Aqidi appeared in this interview with NTD and discussed a recent bill proposed by Representative Ilhan Omar
We take a closer look at a bill proposed by Representative Ilhan Omar. The bill aims to tackle “Islamophobia” around the globe, and it passed the House recently. Some see this bill as a noble cause—as it seeks to protect the rights of Muslims by gathering information about acts of violence, propaganda, and harassment directed at them. Yet a non-practicing Muslim, Dalia al-Aqidi, sees the bill as a threat to free speech. al-Aqidi is a senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy, and she questions the bill’s vague language and claims it will silence Americans who speak out against terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
