Situation Report: Biden administration uses left-wing activists as cover in continued effort to avoid border responsibility

The media is already preparing to swallow hook, line, and sinker the latest Biden Administration gaslighting campaign about the southern border. The narrative this time is that left-wing activists are spitting mad over the Biden Administration’s implementation of the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy and “walked out” of a virtual meeting on immigration.

Politico reported Saturday October 16^th, that:

Advocates asked for time before the beginning of a video meeting Saturday morning with several Biden administration officials, including people from the Department of Homeland Security officials and the White House Domestic Policy Council’s Esther Olavarria. The activists read a statement accusing the administration of “playing politics with human lives” and said they could no longer “come into these conversations in good conscience.”

The bait-and-switch here is that the Biden Administration has done everything in its power to eliminate the “Remain in Mexico Policy”, officially known as the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).  That intransigence continues despite being sanctioned by a federal judge after having lost a lawsuit brought by the states of Texas and Missouri.

The criticism from outside left-wing groups is advantageous for the Biden Administration, since it allows them to be portrayed as meeting their court-ordered obligations while they continue to drag their feet, while at the same time seeking to create a media groundswell which will justify backing out of “Remain in Mexico” at the earliest opportunity. In all likelihood, the “walkout” was a choreographed bit of a theater done to assist the administration, not as an insult to President Biden.

Meanwhile the border remains largely unsecured as illegal migrants crossing the border in the past two months reach repeated record highs. On October 13^th, more than 40 members of congress wrote a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Alexander Mayorkas, criticizing the administration’s continued refusal to uphold the law. It noted that:

Unfortunately, under your leadership, it appears that the Biden Administration refuses to use all available tools, resources and policies proven to maintain control over our immigration system and instead, has created a substantial and ongoing crisis at our Southern Border. It was reported that your Department is preparing for an estimated 350,000 to 400,000 border crossings this month. This would nearly double the 21-year high of crossings recorded for July this year.

The Biden Administration has managed to foment a crisis on the southern border yet works assiduously to avoid accountability by manipulating media optics. For example, when more than 15,000 illegal Haitian migrants were swelling a temporary camp beneath the Del Rio International Bridge, the Biden Administration managed to focus the country’s attention on the use of U.S. Border Patrol horseback units by exploiting a social media driven narrative, and deported only a handful before dispersing large numbers of Haitian migrants around the country.

Look for a complaint corporate media to fall into line with this latest attempt to manipulate appearances and amplify allegations that the Biden Administration is enforcing the successful Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy. Don’t fall for it. This administration continues to do everything in its power to neglect its constitutional responsibilities at the border, and leaves U.S. States and American citizens to pick up the pieces.
