Do you sometimes feel like you don’t recognize America anymore? Do you think America has gone through a radical social transformation in a short time and wonder how we got here?

That was the subject Frank Gaffney talked about with Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review on Secure Freedom Radio Friday.

Horowitz suggests that social policies such as immigration are increasingly being decided by unelected bodies like the judiciary rather than our elected representatives who would be answerable to the people:

“They [the judiciary] have drifted so far from their original mandate which was just to interpret the law, you know picture it adjudicating bankruptcy cases, disputes between individuals on fiscal matters, they have transmogrified themselves into this behemoth that literally outshines the elected branches of government and they now decide every major political and social issue of our time. They induce social transformation without representation.”

Most disturbing of all, Horowitz suggests, the courts are now burrowing their way into immigration policy which is a direct threat to our sovereignty.

Gaffney points to Europe as an example of what could ultimately happen in America and Horowitz agrees, using refugee resettlement in European nations as an example. Would the people have voted for that policy if given a chance? Not likely. Horowitz also suggests that the march towards European style immigration policy here in the U.S. is being driven by the judiciary, unelected bureaucrats at the state department, the United Nations and even private contractors who benefit financially from these policies.

Gaffney asked Horowitz to explain the process:

“If you’re an average American, you look across the world and you basically hear people being persecuted, the first thing that comes to mind would probably be the Yazidis in Iraq, the Christian minority throughout the Middle East and yet you look at our refugee policy and it’s just random. You’ve got from Somalia, you’ve got from Burma and Bhutan has also been pretty much one of the top refugee sending countries for the past decade and you think, man I haven’t heard much about that. Where is this coming from?”

Unfortunately, this entire process is driven by the UN which picks the pools of refugees. Then, private organizations are essentially paid “by the head” with American tax dollars to bring refugees here.

It is, as Gaffney suggests, a form of crony capitalism.

Some might also call it madness.
