The “chickens” hatched in North Korea during previous presidencies are coming home to roost on President Trump’s watch. What is, arguably, the most dangerous regime in the world becomes more so by the day.

North Korea has ballistic missiles capable of reaching parts of the United States. It has violated previous agreements aimed at preventing the North from obtaining nuclear weapons. It has been miniaturizing such weapons to mate them with ballistic missiles and perhaps satellites.

Two such satellites are now routinely orbiting over the United States. If, as a former Director of Central Intelligence believes, one or both may contain a nuclear bomb optimized to generate electromagnetic pulses, North Korea could destroy this country’s electric grid – and society – at will.

Unless addressed, the North Korean threat will continue to metastasize. All instruments of national power should be employed to prevent that.
