Team Obama’s Dangerously Bad Judgment

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has been given the thankless job of spear-catcher for Team Obama’s appalling swap of five top global jihadists for one alleged U.S. deserter. After all, he’s the token Republican in the President’s cabinet and, therefore, expendable.

So, Hagel went to Capitol Hill yesterday to allay widespread concerns about this deal. For example, he told Arizona Republican Trent Franks – one of Congress’ most robust legislators – “If I believe[d] that it was going to increase the risk to our soldiers, I would have never, ever signed off on this.”

Rep. Franks perfectly captured the problem with Secretary Hagel – and, for that matter, the rest of Team Obama – when he replied, “I don’t doubt your sincerity in that regard. I do profoundly, in all respect, doubt your judgment.”
