For decades, the OPEC cartel has artificially hiked up oil prices by manipulating supply. When demand would drop, OPEC nations would simply cut production. And members of the cartel got rich at our expense.

At the moment, however, Saudi Arabia has decided that there is something more important than short-term profits. The Saudis are refusing to cut production – outraging OPEC members critically dependent upon inflated oil prices.

The reason? Saudi royals are determined to drive new American oil producers out of business – before they constitute too much of a threat to the cartel and its ability to set world prices.

U.S. consumers are benefiting from reduced gas prices. And bad actors in Russia, Venezuela and Iran are being badly hurt. But we can’t allow the Saudis to strangle our prospects for energy security.
