The State Department should OK India’s request to buy Arrow missile-defense system
India wants to buy the Israeli-built Arrow anti-ballistic missile system to defend itself from Pakistani and Chinese nuclear missiles.
In a bow to Pakistan and probably China, the State Department is leaning against the sale, which it must approve because the Arrow was developed with American technology.
Democratic India is a strategic and increasingly important country that seeks unprecedented strong security ties with the United States. The Pakistani government is unstable and has threatened to unleash missiles on India. China remains a hegemonic force committed to forcing the US out of Asia and the Pacific. The State Department should approve India’s request.
