Tommy Waller discusses the importance of Congress forcing DoD to obey the law
Tommy Waller joins NTD’s “Capitol Report” to discuss the importance of the Department of Defense keeping its priorities straight and obeying the law.
Regarding the recent NDAA, he said “I applaud elected leaders – regardless of political party – who want to focus on warfighting and military readiness” – specifically commending Congressman Cory Mills from Florida and Senator Tommy Tuberville from Alabama as two elected officials who are doing their best to force DoD leaders to focus on warfighting instead of the Biden Administration’s flawed priorities.
He explained how the Biden Administration’s two top priorities in 2021 were the “extremism in the ranks” and the vaccine mandate, detailing how that mandate encouraged officers to violate the law in forcing servicemembers to take Emergency Use Authorized (EUA) vaccines against their will.
He tied the failed withdrawal of Afghanistan back to the DoD losing focus that year on what was important, but even more on the entire defense establishment having willfully refused to study the threat doctrine of its adversaries during the last two decades.
Finally, Waller also revealed the difference between the Trump administration’s approach to the Chinese threat to the electric grid and the Biden administration, which has “opened the flood gates” to investment in China and Chinese transformers – something he attributes to “elite capture.”
