Institute for Securing the Homeland
The Center is contributing to the security of the American homeland and population in three areas:
The Center helps first responders become first preventers of terrorism.
- ensuring that U.S. law enforcement and intelligence authorities are equipped with the knowledge (the focus of our Policing Terrorism Program, conducted in collaboration with the Manhattan Institute) and tools needed to protect us like those provided by the Patriot Act;
- promoting crisis simulation training for state and local officials needed to avoid critical mistakes in case of terrorist attacks or other emergencies; and
- protecting our borders by advancing security-minded immigration reform.
