Snowden’s Friends, America’s Enemies
Whether Edward Snowden is a traitor seems to have been settled. The former National Security Agency contractor who divulged highly classified information about two intelligence collection programs, then fled to the Communist Chinese territory of Hong Kong, has now left there.
At this point, it is not clear what other top-secret data he may have shared with his Chinese hosts before heading to Moscow. Or whether he has also betrayed his country to Russian intelligence while transiting through Moscow’s airport. Or where his final destination will be – perhaps Venezuela or Ecuador.
What is clear from the company Snowden is keeping among America’s enemies is that he is, indeed, a traitor. And he should be treated as such – by our government and by any true friends we still have around the world.
