A Living Legacy

The Center for Security Policy was privileged to have been associated with Dr. John M. Templeton, Jr. for more than a dozen years of his extraordinary life. He served as a friend, mentor, sponsor and constant inspiration to the Center team.

On June 19, 2008, Dr. Templeton delivered remarks on the occasion of his receiving the Center’s Terry Elkes Sacred Honor Award that beautifully captured his many qualities – notably, as a man of letters and of profound religious conviction, a student of history, a patriot and visionary, as well as his endearing and usually self-deprecating sense of humor, his unstinting humanitarianism and his generous philanthropy.

This address is as instructive and timely today as when it was given. We commend them to all who join us in mourning Jack Templeton’s untimely passing and in celebrating his highly consequential time among us.
