It’s Time for McMaster to ‘Fade Away’

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Donald Trump has begun cleaning house, at last. It has clearly been extraordinarily frustrating for the President to have people in key jobs that were either incompetent, disloyal or both.  It has been simply infuriating for millions of us who want him to succeed.

That has been especially true with respect to the National Security Council under Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster.  Since he took the job of National Security Advisor, McMaster has systematically undermined the President’s policies, reportedly leaked sensitive information and hired Obama hold-overs and others hostile to the Trump agenda, while firing a number of those loyal to it.

It is an open secret that the Commander-in-Chief has, understandably, lost confidence in this general.  It’s time, as MacArthur memorably put it, for that old soldier to “fade away,” before he does more damage to the President and the national interest.
