AMLO’s Likely Election Makes the Case for Trump’s Wall

Whatever one thinks of the immigration issue, it’s about to be fundamentally transformed. On Sunday, Mexicans will likely elect as president Adrés Manuel Lopez Obrador, a radical leftist politician universally known by his initials, AMLO.

AMLO’s socialist economic program and anti-American agenda seem certain to turn a basically friendly nation – albeit a drug- and violence-ridden one that enables large numbers of illegal aliens to transit our southern border – into a failed state like Venezuela, right on the other side of the Rio Grande.

AMLO reportedly will also urge Mexicans to engage in mass migration to the United States.  Whether just a goal or the predictable result of his disastrous economic and security policies, we are on notice: Lots more illegal aliens are likely headed our way.

We need a wall to prevent that from happening, and we need it now.
