Tucker’s “Warmonger” Trope vs. Peace Through Strength
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
I am a pretty big fan of Tucker Carlson. His Fox News show is terrific, mostly. Last night, it aired a prized one-on-one interview with President Trump along with up-close footage of a sickly North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-Un and his security thugs from Mr. Trump’s visit to the Demilitarized Zone.
Unfortunately, that show was accompanied by Tucker’s umpteenth, uncritical interview with retired Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor. Like other frequent guests – including radical leftist Glenn Greenwald and American Conservative Magazine libertarians – the colonel promotes a vicious trope that Tucker endlessly repeats: namely, Washington’s awash with “war-mongers” led by National Security Advisor John Bolton.
Ronald Reagan – and Donald Trump – favor an alternative, both to avoidable wars and to what amounts to surrender in places like Korea, known as “peace through strength.” So does John Bolton. And so do I.
