A Constitutional Crisis

We are now in the midst of a full-blown constitutional crisis.

Consistent with his sworn duty to protect our people and Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic, Donald Trump sought an opportunity to improve the vetting essential to determine whether would-be immigrants from seven problematic nations are threats or individuals we can safely welcome in. Since terrorists are exploiting such population movements worldwide, a corrective pause is clearly in order.

Thomas Jefferson warned of the danger of “judicial tyranny.” We are witnessing that phenomenon in the form of rulings by left-wing activist judges that lack either legal justification or necessary deference to the Commander-in-Chief in matters of national security. They are effectively, unilaterally amending the Constitution to give foreign visitors rights they don’t have and denying the President authorities he does have – and must be able to exercise to keep America safe.
