America’s dependence on foreign sources of fuel for our transportation sector is a strategic vulnerability. Now, we are on notice that al Qaeda is determined to disrupt such supplies in order to destroy our country.

That’s the explicit message of the terrorism-promoting magazine, Resurgence, recently published by this “branch” of what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls “the Poison Tree.” Unfortunately, waging economic warfare against us is not only al Qaeda’s goal but that of all the other elements of the global jihadist enterprise.

Therefore, we must hedge against such threats by allowing alternative, alcohol-based fuels to be used in our cars – fuels made from abundant resources here at home. We’ll inevitably have to do that once the disruption takes place. It would be far easier, faster and safer to do it now.
