Bush tells UN: We dont need anybody’s permission
In a prime-time press conference on the eve of chief weapons inspector Hans Blixs report to the UN, President Bush vowed that when it comes to our security, if we need to act, we will act and we really don’t need United Nations approval to do so.
Bush dismissed recent Iraqi moves to destroy illegal missiles as a willful charade, pointing to recent intelligence that shows that even as he is destroying these few missiles, he has ordered the continued production of the very same type of missiles.
A leaked copy of Blixs report confirms Saddams defiance and describes how Iraq might be trying to produce new missiles.
Bushs bottom line was clear: I will not leave the American people at the mercy of the Iraqi dictator and his weapons. Now, President Bush must put that promise into action.
