China’s subs can track Navy aircraft carriers to sink them
The U.S. retains superiority in aircraft carriers, but China has demonstrated its ability to track U.S. carriers, raising concerns about potential vulnerabilities.
-In 2015, a Chinese Kilo-class submarine shadowed the USS Ronald Reagan near Japan for over 12 hours, similar to a 2006 incident involving a Song-class submarine.
-Despite China’s advancements in submarine capabilities, American submarines, such as the Virginia-class, remain superior. U.S. carriers also rely on multiple defensive layers, making it unlikely that Chinese submarines could successfully attack or sink a U.S. carrier.
The U.S. retains carrier superiority over its adversaries, both in the size and capabilities of its fleet.
